Baltisphaeridium hirsutoides, (Eisenack, 1951), Eisenack, 1959
Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently (and now) Baltisphaeridium. Eisenack et al., 1973 erroneously attributed this species to Eisenack, 1931. This combination was not validly published in Eisenack ,1958 since that author did not fully reference the basionym.
Holotype: Eisenack, 1931, pl.5, fig.19 (as "Ovum hispidum cf. hirsutum Ehrenb."); lost, according to Eisenack et al., 1973
Neotype: Eisenack, 1951, pl.3, fig.8; designated by Eisenack et al., 1973
Age: Late Ordovician
