Baltisphaeridium israelianum, (Rossignol, 1962), Downie and Sarjeant, 1965
Now Operculodinium. Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently Baltisphaeridium, thirdly (and now) Operculodinium; see also Cleistosphaeridium (combination not validly published).
Tax. sr. synonym of Cleistosphaeridium cephalum Kar, 1985, according to Jain and Garg, 1991.
Tax. sr. synonym of Operculodinium crassum Harland 1979, according to Edwards and Andrle, 1992. Matsuoka, 1989 considered this species to represent the encysted stage of Peridinium (now Protoceratiumj reticulatum Claparede and Lachmann, 1859.

Description:
With then same general characteristics as the previous (H.ashdodense eds.) but the processes are much shorter, thick-set. Especially abundant in recent sediments.
Now Operculodinium. Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently Baltisphaeridium, thirdly (and now) Operculodinium; see also Cleistosphaeridium (combination not validly published).
