Baltisphaeridium lobospinosum
Baltisphaeridium lobospinosum, (Gocht in Weiler, 1956), Downie and Sarjeant, 1963
Combination not validly published since Downie and Sarjeant, 1963 did not fully reference the basionym.
Now Chiropteridium. Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently Baltisphaeridium (combination not validly published), thirdly (and now) Chiropteridium. Eisenack and Kjellstroem, 1971 gave the citation Chiropteridium lobospinosum Gocht, 1960 and cited the holotype as the specimen illustrated in Gocht, 1960. However, Gocht in Weiler, 1956 met all the criteria at that time for valid publication of this species. The lectotype, cited as the holotype, was designated by Lentin and Williams, 1989.
Holotype: not designated
Lectotype: Weiler, 1956, pl.12, fig.3; designated by Lentin and Williams, 1989
Age: Middle Oligocene
