Now Barbatacysta. Originally Xanthidium (an extant desmid genus), subsequently Hystrichosphaera, thirdly Hystrichosphaeridium, fourthly Baltisphaeridium, fifthly Tenua, sixthly Sentusidinium, seventhly Batiacasphaera, eighthly (and now) Barbatacysta; see also Cleistosphaeridium (combination not validly published).
