Baltisphaeridium reginaldii
Baltisphaeridium reginaldii, (Mantell, 1844), Downie and Sarjeant, 1965
Now Spiniferites. Originally Xanthidium (an extant desmid genus), subsequently (and now) Spiniferites, thirdly Hystrichosphaera, fourthly Baltisphaeridium. This combination was not validly published in Downie and Sarjeant, 1963 since these authors did not fully reference the basionym. Sarjeant, 1967 emended the diagnosis of this species, as Hystrichosphaera reginaldii.
