Cymatiosphaera pterophora (Deflandre and Courteville, 1939) Downie and Sarjeant, 1965

Now Dinopterygium. Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently Cymatiosphaera, thirdly (and now) Dinopterygium; see also Cymatiosphaera membranacea (name illegitimate). This combination was not validly published in Downie and Sarjeant, 1963 since these authors did not fully reference the basionym.
Holotype: Although Deflandre and Courteville, 1939 listed a holotype, they did not specify which of their illustrations represented that specimen.
Age: Late Cretaceous
