Evittia ramusculosa
Evittia ramusculosa (Deflandre, 1945) Lister, 1970
Acritarch
Combination not validly published since Lister, 1970 did not clearly use the name Evittia ramusculosa.
Now Oppilatala (an acritarch genus). Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently Baltisphaeridium (an acritarch genus), thirdly Evittia (combination not validly published), fourthly Multiplicisphaeridium (an acritarch genus), fifthly (and now) Oppilatala (an acritarch genus); see also Peteinosphaeridium (an
acritarch genus; combination not validly published). Apparently, Lister, 1970 did not intend to propose Evittia ramusculosa as a new combination. He included the name Baltisphaeridium ramusculosum var. spinosum in a list of taxa which
he "proposed" to transfer to Evittia but he did not use the names Evittia ramusculosa or Evittia ramusculosa var. spinosa.
Holotype: Deflandre, 1945, pl.1, figs.8-10
Age: Silurian-Devonian (Late Llandovery-Emsian)
