Now Dinopterygium. Originally Oodnadattia, subsequently (and now) Dinopterygium.
Tax. jr. synonym of Dinopterygium cladoides Deflandre, 1935, according to Clarke and Verdier, 1967. Stover and Evitt, 1978, retained Oodnadattia (as Dinopterygium) tuberculata as a separate species.
Tax. sr. synonym of Oodnadattia cooksoniae Kimyai, 1966, according to Below, 1981.
Tax. sr. synonym of Leptodinium? micropunctatum Jain and Millepied, 1975, according to Below, 1981. Lentin and Williams, 1981, retained Leptodinium? micropunctatum as a separate species.
Holotype: Eisenack and Cookson, 1960, pl.2, fig.10
Locus typicus: Oodnadatta bore, S Australia
Stratum typicum: Albian

Original description: Eisenack and Cookson, 1960, p. 6-7
The epitheca is composed of 3 apical plates, plate 1" being circular and small and covering the apex, plates 2" and 3" being larger and polygonal, and 7 pre-equatorial plates, 5 of which are seperated by 4 intermediate plates, a""-d""; both the pre-equatorial and intermediate plates extend to the equatorial wing. Plates 2" and 3" and 1""-7"" are sparsely scattered with small circular tubercules, the intermediate plates are smooth. The hypotheca is composed of a relatively large antapical plate 1"""", 5 post-equatorial plates and 4 (or 5) intermediate plates, a"""-d""". Plates 1"""-5""" and 1"""" are tuberculare, the intermediate plates are smmoth. The equatorial wing of the hypotheca is narrower than that of the epitheca.
Dimensions: Type - overall diameter 108 µm. Overall range 95-112 µm.

Supplemental description: Morgan, 1980, p. 30
Cyst outline circular in apical view, polygonal in cingular view; endophragm subspherical, psilate; periphragm psilate, closely appressed to endophragm: periphragm bears parasutural crests and intratabular or peritabular tubercles reflecting gonyaulacean tabulation; parasutural crests over most of the cyst 2-3 µm high, sometimes slightly inflated; paracingular crests 12-18µm high, with two appressed crests on the apical side, and a single crest on the antapical side; paired parasulcal crests low at the paracingulum (3-4 µm), increasing in height in a distinct double lobed manner, to 18-25 µm high near the antapex: tubercles may be small (0.5-1 µm) and solid or larger (1-2.5 µm) and hollow, intratabular or slightly peritabular when there are fewer tubercles: archeopyle epicystal, between the apical pair of cingular parasutural crests operculum free, consisting of entire epicyst with one cingular parasutural crest attached.
