Pyxidinopsis psilata

Pyxidinopsis psilata (Wall and Dale in Wall et al. 1973) Head 1994

Originally Tectatodinium, subsequently (and now) Pyxidinopsis.
Holotype: Wall et al. 1973, pl. 1, fig. 9; Head 1994, pl. 5, figs. 8-10
Locus typicus: Black Sea
Stratum typicum: Holocene

Head 1994, p. 308: This species is here removed from Tectatodinium because the luxuria is not spongy or lanate. It is transferred to Pyxidinopsis because the holotype has a finely punctate surface and lacks any indication of paratabulation except for a I P archeopyle (Head 1994, pl. 5, figs. 8-10).
