Deflandrea oebisfeldensis forma oebisfeldensis
Deflandrea oebisfeldensis forma oebisfeldensis
Autonym. Now redundant.
--------------------------------------------------
G.L. Williams short notes on species, Mesozoic-Cenozoic dinocyst course, Urbino, Italy, May 17-22, 1999 - LPP VIEWER CD-ROM 99.5.
Deflandrea oebisfeldensis Alberti, 1959b, differs from Deflandrea phosphoritica in having more elongate epicyst and in the lateral sides of the hypocyst being nearly straight with a less concave median concavity. Thus the antapical horns are poorly developed. Size; pericyst length 115-150 µm, width 86-104 µm.
--------------------------------------------------
Original diagnosis: Alberti, 1959, p. 95-96.
Shell flattened, outline elongate pentagonal. The epitheca, being somewhat larger than the hypotheca, forms a sharp- to right-angled triangle. The sides are sometimes lightly bent inwards or outwards. The epitheca is streched into a short apical horn. The hypotheca has the form of an equilateral trapezium turned upside-down, antapically weakly concave. Two very small antapical horns. Only an indication of lateral horns, that are warded at the tips. A narrow transversal band is located on the dorsal side and on the flanks of the ventral side, and a broad longitudinal furrow is situated on the hypotheca. Armour smooth, rarely covered with a few very small thorns. Inner body with a firm membrane.
