Spiniferites ramosus var. endoperforatus

Spiniferites ramosus var. endoperforatus Corradini, 1973

Now Spiniferites ramosus ssp. endoperforatus. Originally Spiniferites ramosus var. endoperforatus, subsequently (and now) Spiniferites ramosus ssp. endoperforatus.

Holotype: Corradini, 1973, pl.26, fig.9
Age: Senonian

Original diagnosis: Corradini, 1973, p. 168: Spiniferites ramosus var. endoperforatus
Variety of Spiniferites ramosus with ovoidal central body characterized by a quite thick and perforated endophragm.
Dimensions
Holotype: diameter of the central body 47x50 µm, length of the processes 16-18 µm.
Range: diameter of the central body 42-50x46-56 µm, length of the processes 14-22 µm.

Original description: Corradini, 1973, p. 168: Spiniferites ramosus var. endoperforatus
The thickness of the endophragm is about 2 µm; the periphragm is smooth and usually very thin. Perforations, irregularly quadrangular or polygonal in shape, have a more or less constant diameter and are uniformly arranged but not aligned on the central body. Sutural crests imperforated. Length of the processes quite constant and fairly lower than half the diameter of the central body.

Affinirties:
Corradini, 1973, p. 68: Spiniferites ramosus var. endoperforatus
This variety is, generally speaking, similar to Spiniferites ramosus var. ramusus but it is readily distinguished by the perforate and thick nature of the endophragm.
