Original description (Slimani, 1994) Translation: PKB 2025:
Diagnosis: Small, proximal, holocavate, ellipsoidal to subspheroidal cyst without an apical horn. It is characterized by the presence of relatively widely spaced ridges and vermicules, approximately 1/8 of its total diameter in height, which may form an imperfect and very irregular reticulum. The rarely expressed paracingulum is then very faintly marked by an alignment of transverse ridges and divides the cyst into an epicyst that is almost half the size of the hypocyst. The archeopyl is precingular, type P(3"). The operculum is free.

Dimensions: Holotype: pericyst, length: 34 µm, width: 30 µm; endocyst, length: 28 µm, width: 24 µm. Variations: pericyst, length: 28–34 µm, width: 24–30 µm; endocyst, length: 22–28 µm, width: 20–26 µm. Number of specimens measured: 10.

Description: The smooth endophragm and periphragm are joined to form an autophragm with an average thickness of approximately 2 µm. The ridges, vermiculations, and warts are solid, 0.5 to 2 µm thick and 2 to 4 µm high, and distally support a smooth, thin ectophragm (0.5 µm). These ornaments are more or less sinuous in superior view and appear as slightly flared processes distally in optical section. The inconsistent meshwork can reach up to 16 µm in diameter. The paracingulum is faintly indicated. The archeopyl is precingular, type P (3"). Except for the archeopyl, this cyst lacks any discernible paratabulation.

Note: Samlandia pseudoreticulata sp. nov. differs from other species in this genus by its smaller size, the absence of an apical horn, and its more widely spaced ornamentation.
