"?brevispinosum" (Jain and Millepied, 1975, p.150, pl.5, figs.80–82) Islam, 1993, p.87.

Combination illegitimate — senior homonym: Sentusidinium brevispinosum Courtinat in Courtinat and Gaillard, 1980. Substitute name: Sentusidinium? millepiedii. Originally Cleistosphaeridium? brevispinosum, subsequently Sentusidinium brevispinosum (combination illegitimate), thirdly Sentusidinium? brevispinosum (combination illegitimate), fourthly (and now) Sentusidinium? millepiedii. Questionable assignment: Courtinat in Fauconnier and Masure (2004, p.486) as a problematic species.

Holotype: Jain and Millepied, 1975, pl.5, figs.80–81; Fauconnier and Masure, 2004, pl.69, fig.6.
Age: Aptian.

Original description: [Jain and Millepied, 1975]:

Cleistosphaeridium brevispinosum sp. nov. (PI. 5, Figs. 80-82)
Holotype - Pl. 5, Figs. 80-81; Slide No. 8966-3.
Type locality - Bore hole no. CM-4; depth 2918 metres; Senegal Basin, W. Africa.
Horizon-Lower - ?Upper Aptian.
Diagnosis - Shell spherical, surface moderately thick, denscly punctate; processes numerous, short, broader at base, uniform in size, tips furcate or slightly bifid, distally closed. Archacopyle apical.

Measurements
Shell diameter: holotype: 48 μm, range: 45-50 μm
Process size: holotype: 2.6 x 1.3 μm, range: 2.4-2.8 x 1-1.3 μm

Comparison - C. brevispinosum sp. nov. is characterised by its very short processes and densely punctate test surface. These features separate it from the other known species of the genus. C. multispinosum (Singh) Brideaux (1971) compares well in size and morphology but differs in not having punctate surface.
