Impletosphaeridium luxurium

Impletosphaeridium luxurium Eaton, 1976

Holotype: Eaton, 1976, pl. 21, Fig.3; Bujak et al, 1980, pl.5, fig.6
Locus typicus: Alum Bay, Isle of Wight, England
Stratum typicum: Middle-Late Eocene

Original diagnosis: Eaton, 1976, p.309
Cyst body subspherical with a smooth surface. Processes numerous, membranous and of variable breadth. They are bifurcate or digitate with slender aculeate distal terminations.
Dimensions: Holotype: diameter of cyst body 37 Ám; length of processes up to 15 Ám. Observed range: diameter of cyst body 30-37 Ám; length of processes up to 16 Ám. (n = 6).

Affinities:
Eaton, 1976, p.309: The processes in I. luxurium are similar to the membranous ones in I. kroemmelbeini Morgenroth, 1966. I. luxurium is usually distinguished, however, by having broader processes, and does not exhibit the slender rod-like ones which are present in I. kroemmelbeini.
