Cordosphaeridium brevispinum
Cordosphaeridium brevispinum, He Chengquan, 1991, p.165, pl.20, fig.9.
He Chengquan (1991, p.165) included this species in Cordosphaeridium subgenus Tarimocystium.
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.20, fig.9.
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia County Basebulak; Wulagen fm.
Age: Mid Eocene.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [He Chengquan, 1991]: (translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019):
Description:
Ellipse body. Wall thickness 1-1.5 μm, poor delamination, outer wall surface fibrous.
There are many low processes, 2.5-5 μm long, may possessing fibrous structure; The shape of the processes is various: conical, ridge or bow etc. Some conical processes are composed of several rod-shaped spikes, basally combined, distally separated. A process on the apex has a fracture end, while the antapical one looks like a valley (formed by the combination of 2 adjacent conical processes). Processes intratabular, based on the processes on the operculum, there are 3-4 processes on each plate, but the tabulation can not be determined.
Archeopyle outline square, precingular, formed by the movement of the third precingular plate. Operculum preserved in situ.
Dimensions:
Body 85 μm long, width 70 μm.
