Diagnosis: Ithnacysta cyst, cornucavate, characterized by its endophragm and periphragm slightly to strongly decorated with fine granulation and by its rounded to slightly pointed horns.

Dimensions: Holotype – pericyst, length 84 µm, width 20 µm, endocyst, length 20 µm, width 16 µm. Variations – pericyst, length 70-88 µm, width 20-30 µm, endocyst length 18-24 µm. Number of specimens measured: 10.

Description: The endocyst is ellipsoidal to ovoid without prolongation into the horns. The pericyst is fusiform; the body of the cyst is wider laterally than dorsoventrally. The apical horn and the antapical horn have almost the same shape and size and taper slightly towards their rounded to slightly pointed end. The endophragm, sometimes indistinguishable, has a thickness that varies around 1 µm, thicker and often more strongly granulated than the periphragm. The density of the ornamentation of the periphragm decreases progressively towards the end of the horns. With the exception of the archaeopyle which is intercalary type 2Ia, there are no other indications of paratabulation; the operculum consists of two small, longitudinally elongated, subrectangular paraplates, constantly attached to the posterior edge of the archaeopyle and sometimes curled up.
