From Fensome et al., 2019:
Distatodinium parisiense Châteauneuf, 1980, p.137, pl.21, figs.11–12. Holotype: Châteauneuf, 1980, pl.21, fig.12; Fauconnier and Masure, 2004, pl.22, figs.7–9. Age: Middle–Late Eocene (late Lutetian–Marinesian).

Original description (Chateauneuf, 1980): Translation PKB 2025:
Origin of the name: from its abundance in the Paris Basin
Holotype Chelles, Sc. 5, 30.80 m, coordinates: 45.3/110.0
Type locality: Chelles, Sables de Beauchamp, Auversien, Paris Basin.
Diagnosis: Cyst with an ellipsoidal outline, elongated in the apical-antapical direction. Single-layer wall (autophragm). The processes do not appear to be arranged in clear parasutural structures. They are flared tubular in shape, often dichtomous distally, flattened longitudinally, with a very elongated base following longitudinally elongated lines. Surface of the periphragm is smooth to slightly granular. The number of processes is difficult to define but exceeds thirty, which suggests that these processes may be parasutural or both intratabular and parasutural. Apical archaeopyle with zigzag suture. The operculum may be free or attached. Paracingulum and parasulcus are not differentiated. Cyst size: 50 µm high/35 µm wide (without processes), process height: 10 µm.

Stratigraphy: Upper Lutetian to base of Marinesian (very common)
Note: This species differs quite well from the previously described forms by the fineness of its processes, their number, and their very broad and coalescing base forming longitudinal alignments.
