Diagnosis: Heilmann-Clausen and Thomsen 1995, p. 308-309
A subspecies of Taleisphaera hydra which is distinguished from typical T. hydra by its elongate central body, which is up to twice as long as it is wide. Penitabular crests oriented parallel to the long axis of the central body are prominent, whereas transversal crests are indistinct or absent. The archaeopyle is precingular, apparently of type 2P.

Dimensions of holotype: Central body length 52 µm, breadth 31 µm, total length 61 µm, breadth 40 µm.
Dimensions of measured specimens: Central body length: 43 (47) 56 µm. Central body breadth:
22 (26) 31 µm. Central body breadth/length ratio: 0.47 (0.57) 0.67. Pericyst length: 53 (60) 70 µm. Pericyst breadth: 36 (40) 43 µm. (6 specimens measured)
