Cordosphaeridium cordium
Cordosphaeridium cordium, Shaw Chenglong, 1999b, p.165-167, figs.10-15.
Holotype: Shaw Chenglong, 1999b, figs.10-15.
Stratigraphic occurrence: Eocene (OK-1 well, 1788m).
Age: Eocene.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [Shaw Chenglong, 1999b]:
Description:
Cysts spherical to subspherical, 41-47 μm wide, surface view microreticulate or microgranulate surface features with cord-like processes, the processes up to 14 μm long;
precingular archeopyle, indistinct.
Dimensions:
holotype – Overall 63 μm, diameter of the cyst 46 μm, maximum length of processes 13 μm.
overall diameter 48-66 μm, diameter of cyst 36-46 μm, maximum length of processes 14 μm (n=4).
Affinities:
The species differs from Cordosphaeridium fibrospinosum Davey & Willsiams in having substantially smaller cyst body and in having cord-like processes surface features.
