Impletosphaeridium tianshanense

Impletosphaeridium tianshanense (He Chengquan, 1991, p.142, pl.25, figs.4-7; text-fig.28) Williams et al., 1998, p.336.

Originally Cleistosphaeridium, subsequently (and now) Impletosphaeridium.
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.25, fig.4.
Age: Early Eocene.

Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Description: The body is subcircle-ellipse. Thin wall, the surface granular. There are many medium-length processes, about 50 around the body, the shape and size are almost the same, thin strip, soft, solid, curved, uniform width, the ends of the majority are blunt or micro-bifurcated, few tiny trumpet or bifurcated. Processes are evenly distributed and non-tabular, but there is a tendency that the clusters and neighboring processes are connected to each other at the distal pole. Archeopyle apical, (tA) type, formed by the movement of the apex, the edge angular or "Z" shape. Operculum preserved in situ. The body diameter 72μm, the process long 7-14μm (measured 7); the diameter of the main body of the holotype 72μm, process length 14μm.
DISCUSSION: This species is characterized by soft curved thin strip processes, , simple ends or microtips. It is quite similar in appearance to the late Paleocene-Paleocene (Corradini, 1973, p.133, pl. Concave, figs.6, 7) of Italy, but the latter has a smooth surface with protuberances More dense, in addition, the archeopyle shape of the two seems to be different. Location and stratigraphy: Wuchaxian County Basebulak; Qimugen fm upper member.
