Original description (He Chengquan and Sun Xuekun, 1991)
Derivation of name: Latin, decorosus, beautiful, hair
Description of cyst: proximate, elongate peridinioid, compressed dorsoventrally with a bulgy equatorial area. Epicyst and hypocyst of approximately equal size. Epicyst conical, with a strong apical horn whose tip is blunt. Hypocyst trapezoidal, extending backward two long symmetrical and blunt antapical horns of nearly equal size. Wall single-layered, pale yellow in color, surface smooth. Parasulcus very distinct, deeply indented, somewhat conical in outline and basically confined to hypocyst or may extend upto the base of epicyst, broadening slightly backward. Archeopyle combination type 3I3P, formed by loss of these intercalary paraplates (1a-3a) and three precingular paraplates (3"-5"). Operculum compound, free or partly adhered in equatorial region.
Dimensions: Range 56-73.5 µm long, 44.6-49 µm wide. Holotype: 69 µm long, 49 µm wide, apical horn 11 µm long, antapical horn about 17 µm long, paracingulum about 4.5 µm wide.
