Original description (He Chengquan and Sun Xuekun, 1991)
Derivation of name: Latin, psilatus, smooth.
Description: Cyst proximate, compressed dorsoventrally, rounded rhomboid to subpentagonal in outline, without apical and antapical horns. Equatorial area bulging outwards. Epicyst slightly larger than hypocyst. Wall single-layered, thin, pale yellow in colour, surface smooth but with many irregular secondary folds. Paracingulum not indicated, but may be located in the broadest position of the cyst. Paratabulation indicated only by archaeopyle. Archeopyle large, trapezoidal in outline, combination type (3I3P). Operculum free but adherent on hypocyst, with a simple and semicircular outline.
Dimensions: Holotype 45 µm long, 44.6 µm wide.
