Palaecysta crispabaculata subsp. crispabaculata

Palaecysta crispabaculata subsp. crispabaculata.

Autonym. This taxon was illustrated in Chen (2013) as pl.11, figs.124–130; pl.12, figs.139,145–147, text-fig.9, no.1; text-fig.10, no.27; text-fig.11, nos.53–55.

Holotype: Chen, 2013, pl.11, fig.124.
Age: early Hauterivian.
Occurrences in the Ankamotra-1 well. P. crispabaculata occurred abundantly in Zone 1 (Early Hauterivian).

Originals description (Chen, 2013):
Palaecysta crispabaculata sp. nov. crispa
baculata, Latin, curly-rod, depicting the appearance of both the isolated spinous processes and the individual processes of the process clusters.
Holotype: Plate 11, Figure 124, Slide 1226-35, D64
Paratypes: Plate 11, Figure 126, Slide 1160-63, P36; Plate 11, Figure 127, Slide 1160-63, G37; Plate 11, Figure 130, Slide 1160-63, H26.
Other specimens. Plate 11, Figures 125, 128, 129; Plate 12, Figures 139, 145-147.
Diagnosis. The base of process clusters is represented by a very low arcuate ridge, from which individual processes, average about 6, emerging and terminating distally into a y-shape branching. The main characteristic of this species is the wavy-shaped processes (Figure 9, drawing 1; Figure 10, drawing 27; Figure 11, drawings 53-55).

Dimensions (based on measurements from 50 specimens):
Holotype: Whole specimen 120 µm; central body 85 µm; process length 28 µm
Range: Whole specimen 110(115)123 µm; central body 70 (85) 90 µm; Process length 25 (30) 35 µm

Remarks: This species differs from P. crispabaculata subsp. delicata in having a more robust appearance of the wavy-shaped processes and a slightly smaller cyst size.
