Original description (Chen, 2013):
Palaecysta integra subsp. mahajangaensis subsp. nov.
mahajanga, in honour of the name of the province in the western part of Madagascar where the well was drilled.

Synonyms
Systematophora? daveyi Riding & Thomas (Abbink et al., 2001; Figure 9, C)
“Perisseiasphaeridium sp. A” (Burger, 1982; Plate 6, Figure 9)
Diagnosis: The two types of distal branchings, including the primary (beginning of the branchings) and secondary (towards the distal end), which occur only in the top quarter of the process clusters (Figure 9, drawing 7; Figure 10, drawing 33; Figure 11, drawings 62, 63) are the main characteristic of this subspecies.
Dimensions (based on measurements from 25 specimens):
Holotype – Whole specimen 115 µm; central body 75 µm; process length 38 µm
Range – Whole specimen 115 (125) 135 µm; central body 70 (76) 81 µm; process length 38 (43) 50 µm
Occurrences in the Ankamotra-1 well. P. integra subsp. mahajangaensis occurred in the basal Zone 5 (Late Tithonian).
