Questionable assignment: Lentin and Williams (1985, p.262). Junior homonym: Operculodinium spiniferum de Coninck, 1986b. Age: Senonian.

Operculodinium spiniferum n. sp.
Plate 4, Fig. 21

Type: The specimen shown on Plate 4, Fig. 21 and preserved in specimen Mad. 9.
Diagnosis: Spherical in shape (slightly oval in the type), fairly densely covered with short, pointed spines.
Dimensions: Diameter of the shell approx. 83 x 94 μ, overall 90 x 100 μ.
Occurrence: Madura No. 1 Bore, at 966-988 ft.
