Original description (Davey and Williams, 1969)
Synonym of Hystrichosphaeridium anthophorum sensu Eisenack, 1958. Holotype: the specimen figured by Eisenack, 1958; pl. 26 fig. I, and contained in his Slide Ob. Apt. no. 31. Dimensions of holotype: diameter of central body 55µ, overall diameter 110µ. Lower Cretaceous (Upper Aptian), Germany. (Name originally proposed by Davey & Williams, 1966b; 79; invalid under Art. 37, since the holotype was not designated.)
