Original description (Firtion, 1952) Translation PKB 2025:
This microfossil differs considerably from the previous species. The shell, wider than it is tall, has a sort of equatorial ridge that divides it into two unequal parts. There are nine radially arranged spines. Five of them are inserted near and below the ridge. The cross-section of the chamber is a pentagon, the vertices of which are extended by the five aforementioned spines.
The four remaining spines are arranged as follows: one, shorter and curved at a right angle, extends from the upper part, while the other three are inserted on the lower part of the chamber. Micrrhystridium singulare resembles the genus Palaeostomocystis Deflandre in appearance but is distinguished by the absence of a pore.

Height 14.5 µm, Diameter 18.5 µm, Spine length 14.6–19.7 µm.
