Wetzeliella caviarticulata Fensome et al., 2009, p.66, pl.11, figs.m–o,q–t.
Holotype: Fensome et al., 2009, pl.11, figs.m–o.
Age: youngest occurrence, early Lutetian.

Original description (Fensome et al., 2009)
Holotype. Plate 11, figs m-o; from a sidewall core sample at 1066.8 m (3500 feet) in Onondaga E-84 well; GSC type collection no. 130324, sample P37516, slide 01, co-ordinates 13.3 × 92.4, England Finder N35/0. Length of pericyst (including horns but not spines) 103 μm, width of pericyst (in cluding horns but not spines) 102μm, length of endocyst 74 μm, width of endocyst 78 μm, spines up to 9 μm long. The age determined for the sample from which the holotype was recovered is Ypresian-Lutetian (Early-Middle Eocene).

Etmology. The epithet is derived from the fact that the species closely resembles Wetzeliella articulata but has a much more strongly developed cavation.

Diagnosis. A species of Wetzeliella with symmetrical shape, well developed apical, left lateral, right lateral, left
antapical and right antapical horns, and strongly developed circumcavation between endophragm and periphragm. Size. Length of pericyst (including horns but not spines) 103(111)140μm, width of pericyst (including horns but not spines) 94(101)109μm, length of endocyst 69(76)94μm, width of endocyst 68(79)84μm, spines up to 9(10)11μm long; 5 specimens measured.

Age on Scotian Margina. LAD: early Lutetian (Middle Eocene).

Remarks. This species is distinguished from Wetzeliella articulata in its developments of a continuous and broadseparation ambitally between endophragm and periphragm. This feature appears to be stratigraphically important.
