Maturodinium

From Fensome et al., 2019:

Maturodinium, Morgenroth, 1970, p.353–354.
Taxonomic senior synonym: Dapcodinium, according to Dörhöfer and Davies (1980, p.23) -- however, Lentin and Williams (1985, p.231) retained Maturodinium.
Type: Morgenroth, 1970, pl.13, figs.5–6, as Maturodinium inornatum.

Original description: [Morgenroth, 1970]:

Description:
Dinoflagellate cysts reflecting the following tabulation:4`, ?4a, 7``, 7c, 6```,1p, 1````. Cingulum laevo-rotatory; cingular plates well marked. The slightly intruding sulcus may extend onto the epitract. An apical horn may be present.
Archeopyle: The rupture along the archeopyle suture takes place immediately above the precingular plate equivalents. It separates a compound operculum which consists of ?five pieces. One opercular piece represents the four apical plates and is attached ventrally to the sulcal region. The ? four reflected anterior intercalary plates are discarded separately (Archeopyle type: "Aa" + ?4I).

Modified description:

Stover and Evitt, 1978, p. 213:

Synopsis:
Cysts proximate, subspherical to ovoidal; paratabulation indicated by low parasutural features; combination archeopyle, Type "tAa" + ?4I.

Descrpition:
Shape: Subspherical to ovoidal.
Wall relationships: Autophragm only.
Wall features: Parasutural features marked by the absence of granulation. Autophragm granulate.
Paratabulation: Indicated by parasutural features; formula: 4`, ?4a, 7``, 7c, 6```,1p, 1````.
Archeopyle: Combination archeopyle, Type "tAa" + ?4I; operculum composed of five pieces: a single ventrally attached opercular pieces consists of paraplates 1 ` to 4`, and paraplates la to 4a separate as individual opercular pieces.
Paracingulum: Indicated by seven quadrangular paraplates.
Parasulcus: Apparently poorly delimited, undivided area extending between paraplates 1`and 1````, and wider antapically than apically.
Size: Small.

Affinities:
Maturodinium differs from Dapcodinium in having the four anterior intercalary paraplates separated in archeopyle formation and in having the parasutural features shown as narrow unornamented bands on an otherwise ornamented cyst. In Dapcodinium the parasutural features are expressed as low smooth ridges.

Maturodinium Morgenroth, 1970. Generic diagnosis. Dinoflagellate cysts reflecting the following tabulation 4`, ?4a, 7", 7c, 6"' , 1p, 1"''. Cingulum laevorotatory, cingular plates well marked. The slightly intruding sulcus may extend onto the epitract. An apical horn may be present. The rupture of the archeopyle suture takes place immediately above the precingular plates. It separates a compound operculum which consists of ?five pieces. One opercular piece represents the four apical plates and is attached ventrally to the sulcal region. The ?four reflected anterior intercalary plates are discarded separately. Archeopyle type [Aa] + ?4I. The genus differs from Mancodinium in showing clear tabulation on the hypocyst and in the archeopyle mode. Below (1987b) gave the opercular formula as (pr + 1` + 2` + 3` + 4`) + 1a + 2a + 3a + 4a.
