Original description: [Kirsch, 1991]: (Translation: LPP):

Diagnosis:
Skolochorate, bilayered cyst with two different, intratabular process types, which are formed by the periphragm, and a subspheroidal to spheroidal central body.
Archaeopyle precingular (Type 2P; 3``+4``) with a secate, solvate operculum. Both opercula are isolated.

Affinities:
The genus Raetiaedinium differs from Pervosphaeridium and Kiokansium, which also possess a 2P archaeopyle, in the development and arrangement of the processes.
