Ataxiodinium
From Fensome et al., 2019:
Ataxodinium, Reid, 1974, p.588.
Taxonomic senior synonym: Planinosphaeridium, by implication in Wall et al. (1977, p.149), who transferred the "type species" of Ataxiodinium, Ataxiodinium choane, to Planinosphaeridium -- however, Edwards and Andrle (1992, p.265) retained Ataxiodinium.
Type: Reid, 1974, pl.1, figs.1–2, as Ataxiodinium choane.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [Reid, 1974]:
Description:
Cavate cysts with a subcircular inner capsule and an expanded outer membrane periphragm attached at isolated points by narrow funnel shaped hollows to the inner capsule. Archeopyle precingular, trapezoidal.
Affinities:
Ataxiodinium differs from Pentadinium in shape, lack of clearly marked fields and tabulation, and trapezoidal archeopyle.

Notes:
G.L. Williams short notes on species, Mesozoic-Cenozoic dinocyst course, Urbino, Italy, May 17-22, 1999 - LPP VIEWER CD-ROM 99.5.
Ataxiodinium Reid, 1974. From the diagnosis (Reid, 1974), is a cavate cyst with subcircular endocyst and expanded outer periphragm attached at isolated points by narrow funnel-shaped hollows to the inner capsule. Archeopyle precingular. Differs from Pentadinium in shape, lack of clearly marked fields and tabulation, and trapezoidal archeopyle.
