Damassa, S.P., 1988: Carpatella cornuta Grigornovich 1969 (Dinophyceae) - a member of the Aptiana-Ventriosum complex. Palynology, v.12, pp.167-177. A biostratigraphic study of exceptionally well-preserved dinoflagellate assemblages of Maastrichtian and Danian age from southwestern Sweden and southeastern Denmark has provided an opportunity for morphological analysis of the stratigraphically important species. Carparella cornuta Grigorovich 1969. The paratabulation pattern of this species is shown to be essentially idcntical to that of other species having a Ventnosum pattern in the Aptiana-Ventriosum complex of Helenes (1986). The genenc and specific descriptions are formally emended, and a neotype is dcsignated.
