Review of Palaeobotany and Palynology volume 85 nos. 3/4: 213-230 The stratigraphically important species Ataxiodinium confusum Versteegh and Zevenboom, sp. nov., Edwardsiella sexispinosum Versteegh and Zevenboom, gen. et sp. nov., Piccoladinium fenestratum Versteegh and Zevenboom, gen. et sp. nov., Impagidinium plicatum Versteegh and Zevenboom, sp. nov., Impagidinium solidum Versteegh and Zevenboom, sp. nov., and Pyxidinopsis tuberculata Versteegh and Zevenboom, sp. nov., are formally described on the basis of well-preserved material from the Giamoia, Singa and Punta Piccola sections (Miocene-Pliocene of southern Italy) and from Core T20-87 (Late Pleistocene, offshore Crete).
