B, 232: 59-102 The palynomorphs from samples of a marine dark/light/dark marl-sequence of uppermost Aptian age (jacobi-Zone) from V÷hrum (Niedersachsen, Germany) have been studied with traditional palynofacies analysis as well as with a new approach of quantitative analysis of fossil dinoflagellate cysts. Contrary to traditional analysis that shows slight differences in composition of the dinoflagellate-cyst-assemblages only, this application of the new method gives hints to significant differences of environment during deposition of the various coloured sediments.
