Prauss, M., 1993; Sequence Palynology - evidence from Mesozoic sections and conceptual framework. Neues Jahrbuch f³r Geologie und Palõontologie, Abhandlungen, 190: 143-163; Stuttgart. Abstract: Sections from the Callovian, Middle Aptian and Cenomanian/Turonian Boundary Event (CTBE) within the Lower Saxony Basin are analysed palynologically. The palynologic results are integrated with lithologic/sedimentologic features and a sequence-stratigraphic/-palynologic interpretation of the respective sections is suggested. Based on these interpretations and considering the demands of the different algal groups on hydrodynamic stability and salinity conditions within the photic zone, a concept of "sequence palynology" is introduced.
