Abstract: The dinoflagellate distribution in four sections of Barremian-Aptian strata in Lower Saxony has been studied by LISTER & BATTEN (this vol.) and HEILMANN-CLAUSEN & THOMSEN (this vol.). Based on these studies the present paper correlates the sections biostratigraphically. In addition a synthetic range chart of dinoflagellate species useful for biostratigraphical correlation in Lower Saxony has been worked out. The range chart is calibrated with ammonite and belemnite zones and lithological marker beds.
