Annotated abstract: A dinocyst zonal notation for the Paleogen-Miocene of the NW European Basin, compiled from published information and unpublished data, contributed by members of the IGCP Project 124. For application outside NW Europe, this zonation would need considerable modifications concerning ranges and composition of assemblages. Comment: text and range chart are not in accordance, and give rise to confusion. Some taxa mentioned in the text are either not registered in the chart or given under a different name. Some informal taxa are not described, and there are no photomicrographs.
