Yu Jingxian, Sun Mongrong, Sun Suying and Mao Shaozhi , 1981; The characters of dinoflagellate and acritarch assemblages from the Dalangshan Formation and their age determination. Oil and Gas Geology vol.2, no.3 pp.254-264 pl.1 Abstract: The Sanshui Basin is located in southern Guadong, at the confluence of the Bei Jiang and Xi Jiang rivers, and contains extremely thick deposits of Cretaceous to Tertiary strata which in upward succession make up the Sanshui, Dalang Shan, Buxin and Huayong Formations. It was during a palynological analysis of these strata that the authors discovered an abundance of dinoflagellates and acritarchs in the Dalang Shan Formation. This paper focusses on these two types of fossils and looks as well into the depositional environment of the time.
