Acta Palaeobot. 31 (1,2): 49-61 Abstract A new peridinoid dinoflagellate cyst-genus with the type-species Krutzschidinium spinosum n. gen n. sp. is described from a nearly monospecific dinocyst assemblage of the so-called "Letschicht 1", a stratigraphic marker horizon of the Middle Eocene in the Egeln-Brown Coal Basin (Central Germany).
