Stratum typicum: Middle Tithonian, Chitinoidella Zone, Tica Fm.

Material. More than hundred specimens.
Dimensions (in µm) . Holotype: length (apex lacking): 65, width: 68 Range: length: 57-67, width: 57-71 (11 specimens measured).

Description. Dodekova 1994, p. 33
The cyst is spherical with apex and antapex broadly rounded. The widest part of the cyst is in its cingular region. The autophragm is of moderate thickness, microperforate, fossulate or with a vague reticulum, with uneven distributed granulae, tuberculae und rarely baculae. The latter most are with 1-2 µm length. Some specimens have the ornaments less pronounced on the epicyst than on the hypocyst. The archeopyle is apical, type tA. Operculum free. Deep accessory archeopyle sutures almost constantly are present. They reach to the cingular region and determined six precingular plates. These accessory sutures and the archeopyle are the unique indication of the tabulation.

Remarks. Dodekova 1994, p. 33
In general appearance S. spatiosum .sp. n. is similar to S. pelionense Fensome, 1979 but the latter has ornaments with loser relief and the cyst margin appears to be almost smooth (Fensome, 1979, pl. 1, figs. 5-9). Fensome did not announce for intraperforations of the cyst wall. The species Sentusidinium sp. A sensu Durr, 1988 (p. 98, pl. 9, figs. 9, 12) is similar to S. spatiosum sp. n. in common appearance and dimensions but the description of the former is so short that any comparison will not be authoritative.

Occurrence. Boreholes: R-l Junak (depth 1605 m, Tica Fm., Middle Tithoniall, Chitinoidella Zone; R-3 Junak (depth 1756 m, Tica Fm., Early Tithonian); R-4 Junak (depth 1654 m, Tica Fm, Early Tithonian).
